I’ll start by saying that my artwork is very unique. Since my artistic journey began years ago, I have always aimed to create pieces that stand out. I add a touch of creativity while also giving praise and glory to God. Each of my artworks has a significant difference. What inspires my art is love—the hope of one day finding that girl who truly loves me for who I am.
I began making art in the 8th grade, and it has been a long journey. My favorite piece is titled “Thorns.” I beaded a full portrait of a girl—not a specific girl, just an image I once saw. I call that piece “Thorns” because “if you want to find a real rose, you must accept the thorns.” Don’t try to cut off the thorns, as they are part of what the rose is. In my quote, the girl represents the rose, while the thorns symbolize her past, her trauma, and more. To truly meet and know a real girl, or “rose,” you have to accept her thorns.
That piece speaks volumes to me. No one should ever have to hide their past, as our experiences shape who we are. We should all love and respect one another, regardless of our past.
