As I look at the flowers outside my window growing from the dirt and cracks of the earth, it helps me imagine that the most beautiful creations this planet has to offer can rise from the dirt and blossom from the hardest and darkest of places.

I have not allowed the mistakes of my past to drag me through this incarceration or transform me into a bitter individual. I can only hope that even just one of the millions of human beings on this earth might take a chance to look through my darkness and see the light that lives inside of me.

Friendship begins between strangers, and the bonds that can be built come from the laughs, smiles, and tears these strangers choose to share with one another. I’m asking that you choose to take a chance and get to know this lonely human, and who knows what might become. Even the great story of Bonnie and Clyde started with the word “hello.”

But let me switch it up and write my own story:

Hi, my name is Terrance. Maybe you would like to get to know me, or maybe you will continue on your journey. But whichever path you choose, I appreciate the time you took to read these words.
